Re: Do you use your Strat like a Strat?

I have and used an HS strat (03 Fender MIA Strat with an SD Pearly Gates in bridge position and a Dimarzio Virtual Vintage Blues in neck position) for a long time, but never really had an SSS strat until last December. It's a new MIM Fender Player II Strat. Awesome bang for buck Strat, IMO. I swappe...

Re: new fender standard

These are not Mexican made. They are made in Indonesia. It says it on the back of the headstock. I have a Jackson that was probably built where these are being built. It's a great playing guitar with decent hardware and stock pickups. Is at good as any of my other more expensive guitars? No, but for...

Re: NAD

I had a Laney GH50L for a while. It was a bit dry sounding for my tastes back then, but it was still a monster of an amp. I wish I kept it around longer to play around with tubes and speaker cabs. I was using it through a Mojotone 4x12 with Greenbacks back then. Maybe that wasn't the best speaker ma...

Re: New fender standard strat...

I have a Jackson made in Indonesia. Plays way better than the 2001 PRS CE-22 I used to own. The only downside to guitars built there, sometimes, is the woods they use for guitar bodies. Poplar and bass wood aren't my favorite guitar body materials. Still, though, Mexican factory guitars nowadays are...

Re: Rockman pedal

Depending on the price I might just grab one of these to mess around with! I always had a soft spot for the tones the Rockman preamps put out.

Re: What are your thoughts on thin body "lite" LPs?

I have a buddy that has two. One's a goldtop with P90s and the other is a black Standard with P90s. He loves them.

Re: Stuff that got away

Re: NGD!!!

After spending ALOT more time with this guitar, I'd be hard pressed to believe this is not an American Strat. Even with the stock pickups. Compared to my 2003 American Standard Fat Strat and my 2021 American Professional II Series Tele, I would swear this Strat was a USA made Strat. The Ensenada pla...

NGD!!!

After getting my end of year bonus at work I thought I should spoil myself a bit and here it is! A new Fender Player II Series Stratocaster made in Ensenada, Mexico! Unlike the other new MIM Fenders, this one has a rosewood fretboard that's hand rolled like the American Fenders. The neck feels ident...
