New fender standard strat...
I was interested until I saw they were made in Indonesia. Why can't they pump that out of Mexico for $600?

Because they want, what, $850 for the MIM Player Strats now? They shouldn't make Fenders made in countries other than Japan, Mexico, and America, but I know they have before. Basically just a "high end" Squier.

It's strange for Fender to do that. But I've played some very good guitars made in Indonesia. So I wouldn't write it off just because of that. It could be good. The good thing about Fender is they are really good with distribution so these guitars will definitely be at local GCs etc to try out. We'll see...

Part of me still just wants a Vintera 60s Strat to add to the mix lol. Strats and single coils are my jam lately.

I'll totally check one out before deciding. I think it's a small premium for the fender name over squire in this case. Just a bit of a shock when I saw it was made in Indonesia because I expected mexicoGuitarbilly wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 9:57 pm It's strange for Fender to do that. You can get them around 650 on sale. I think my local GC had some for 450 for a very short while.Spaced Out Ace wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 9:35 pm Because they want, what, $850 for the MIM Player Strats now? I have a Jackson made in Indonesia. Plays way better than the 2001 PRS CE-22 I used to own. The only downside to guitars built there, sometimes, is the woods they use for guitar bodies. Poplar and bass wood aren't my favorite guitar body materials. Still, though, Mexican factory guitars nowadays are pretty much on par with standard level US guitars. I've experienced that with my recent MIM Strat.

Way too many, yet not enough

I need more than just Jet City amps

They were doing that here too for the previous model year Players, which made very little sense to me since the new model years aren't really different by much. I almost grabbed one, but decided not to spend even that much on a Strat right now when I have other priorities in my music world.trey85stang2 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 2:21 amYou can get them around 650 on sale.
