Don’t put graphtech saddles on your Jaguar/jazzmaster

They sound terrible.

Built an alder mjt/warmoth jaguar.

Pickups = madlove alnico 2 hot jaguar


Guitar had this strange, boomy, awful midrange.

I was ready to buy new pickups or replace this body.

Fast forward. I tried some mij threaded jag saddles with blue locktite.

Holy shit. This guitar smokes! Glad I didn’t torpedo this project. Never using the tusq saddles ever again. Horrible sound. Too bad since i like the design.

Yeah I’m not a fan of the graghtech either. We sell em at the shop and I have to install them fairly often… They do have a tone of their own. I suppose they’ll work on certain guitars but I don’t believe they actually do anything all that beneficial.

Yeah I'm not a fan of graphite saddles. They sound full and take the bite out of the guitar.
But GraphTech also has some steel saddles that have a little graphite insert where the string makes contact with the saddle and they sound pretty normal . But yeah, the full graphite saddles are crap.

I had a graph-tech bridge on my epiphone SG years ago but then i switched to a roller bridge. I did fully hate the graph-tech bridge but like the rolle3r bridge better.
