For a little while. It was good. But it ended up collecting dust. I basically played it like a Plexi and didn't give a shit about the extra switches on it. So I sold it and broke even. I prefer my 800, Jube, MarkIII and Tweed Pro over it. Like I said, if I grab another, it'll be a basic Plexi style amp. I don't need that much gain for what I like to play. I just want all of the bite and brashness of a Plexi.Vladimir Putin wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 9:18 pmOh damn, you had a Friedman Plex?turbopablo wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 2:52 pm A $20 SD-1 does all of that in front of my 800. Or a Klone, RAT, TS or fuzz. From all of the demos I’ve watched and my experience with a recently sold off Friedman Plex, the majority of those gain mods turn these amps to mush. At this point I would put my dollars into a Ceriatone 187/86 and just boost it. I should have done that in the first place.

So the Plex has more gain than a stock plexi?turbopablo wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 9:37 pmFor a little while. It was good. But it ended up collecting dust. I agree with you BTW. I think if I get another plexi, Ceriatone would be the way to go. They make great clones and the prices are very reasonable.

Sure seemed to. But it has been a few decades since I got rid of mine. I just don't need all the switchy stuff. Crank the volume and boost it. Simple made easy.Guitarbilly wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 10:53 pmSo the Plex has more gain than a stock plexi?turbopablo wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 9:37 pmFor a little while. It was good.
