Yes, buy the Misery Stocking/Box of Sad, folks. My girlfriend and I get a bit of schadenfreude reading the yearly thread. We especially enjoy the ugly acryllic beanies (me especially; they give my girlfriend nightmares as she is a knitter and prefers quality yarn) and the hideous Fender straps in goofy color schemes.

That said, $45 to buy a bunch of stuff John Bohlinger scraped up off the floor and out of desks/boxes so Premier Guitar can both make money and cut down on their "footprint" isn't my idea of a good time.

Box of sad.

That's pretty much true. I did ok last year. I got a cool baseball cap, a gibson multi tool, some strings and some assorted worthless odds and ends. I was happy with that.

Its silly fun but I'll keep my fingers crossed. Somebody has to win that cammo guitar strap and it may as well be me.

But yeah, its usually a box of sad.

I got mine, have done it probably 4 other times. I see it as a $45 raffle ticket where you at least get crap that's worth 45 to someone. One year I got a Boss SD-1, another year I got a patch cable kit, other years it was the box of sad. I use a couple of the straps and tuners, sold a couple straps to people at work.
I say I'm not going to do it, but you never know when you might luck out and get something better.

Well, it wasn't a box of complete sadness but it wasn't exactly a box of joy either.

I got a $50 Stewmac polishing kit, which is actually pretty cool for people who like to clean the fretboard, polish the frets and keep their guitars shiny and pretty. I hardly ever do any of those things.

I also got a pack of SIT 10 - 42 gauge strings, a hideous neon pink and green Fender strap and a box of gloknobs.

The Stewmac kit is pretty nice but the rest is a pile of meh.

haha, I got the full on box of sadness, definitely the worst I've received. The ugly fluorescent fender strap, MXR cable wraps, a set of Thomastik-Infeld strings , some picks and a sticker.
