Working on a new track today and....
... I decided to track all my amps to see which one would fit the track better
Friedman- no, too warm
Koch - no
Mojotone- better but still not 100%
800- sounded good but still something missing on the lows
Plexi- works well but sat a bit ilght n the mix
DSL - yes, perfect
Then I needed a boost for leads:
Klone- no
Green Rhyno - no
Spark mini - no
Rat - no
SD1- yes
So basically DSL and SD1.
Why do I keep buying gear??? FML

As long as you always have an DSL and SD1 on hand, the rest can be a revolving door.
We are here to enable.

It's funny because I love LPs but I always liked the Standards better, not so much for tone - both sound great - but I like the way LP Standards look, a bit more stripped down.
I'm not opposed to having a Custom but it's not my first preference. And given that the Standards are also cheaper, I just stick with them.
By "Standard" I also include Traditional, Classic etc.. They're all LP Standards to me. these variations are in name only.

You like what you like, I kind of wish I was more like that. I'm all over the place genre wise and tone wise, spend too much time chasing after gear than using what I've got.

Marshalls and SD1's are pretty much it for me. Maybe it's age but after running through probably 15 different amps over the past few years, I am set on my modded 2203X and Synergy rig. I still watch reviews of new amps that are out there but I don't want any of them enough to drop the cash these days. Sold almost 20 different OD/boost pedals as well. Kept only the SD1, original Koko, and a TS9.
With that being said, I do need to pick up a DSL again just to have around. Now get off of my lawn!

Yeah I think that's true for me too. I mean, I KNOW it's trueeyeball987 wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2024 4:55 pm Marshalls and SD1's are pretty much it for me. At least I keep the forum busy But I'm really giving up on finding other amps I like as much. But I guess as long as I'm selling/buying without adding any extra money to it, it's fun to have the revolving door of gear and trying out new amps.
