Yeah, the settings are weird but work. These are my settings which were very close to his and I was using Greenbacks up top with G12T75'S bottom. Master was at 3.

Crunch channel bright on Gain 5.5 Low 6 Mids 2.5 treble 5 presence between 8.5 to 9.5 depending on speakers, resonance 7-9 or to taste depending on volume levels but I ran mine pretty high as well. Killer crunch

I'm not big on "brown sound" myself, but these settings with an SD-1 slamming it up front can get you some interesting semi-scooped thrash tones with the resonance rolled back a shade.

Far as I can tell so far, it's pretty darned close to the original.

Peavey's selling these refurbished on eBay for right around or slightly less than the Iconic pricing right now. Having tried the Iconic a few times while testing out guitars, I'd rather one of these for the same money. Not that the Iconic is bad at all, there's just something a little different about them. Not sure if it's sound or just feel, but something just ain't quite there.

Cab got re-routed and is now supposedly coming today. Madison Square Living Room tonight.

I'd heard good things about these Sheffield 1230+ speakers and thus far those things seem to be true. I only took a few moments at volume, as it was pretty late before I got to crank up. Life's too damn busy. But they really get some big, punchy lows when the cab starts to resonate.

Low volumes they do a shockingly good job of keeping the fizzies at bay. You can still hear it, like most 4x12s when you're too quiet with them, but it's almost like these speakers notch out that area of the EQ curve at low volume, then start to let it creep back in as the volume goes up. Which is weird to experience as you push the master.

Pretty happy with it so far. I'll have to spend more time with it at ear bleed levels, or at least at the level where it's really starting to push some air to see how I feel overall. Got three days off this week, and at least one of those is reserved for putting this sucker through its paces with a mic on it. Hoping it records as nice as it sounds in the room.
