NGD

Post by Maddnotez »

I've been grinding to pay off some major debt from unforseen home expenses plus having a mid life crisis and buying things I couldn't afford, I guess I'm back at it again  jk.....I had the money this time although I still shouldn't have.

I've been GASsing for this for several months now, found this model at the lowest price I've ever seen so I felt obligated. I did have to pay tax on top of the pictured pricing.

Schecter sun valley super shredder exotic zircote, hardtail. I was really looking to get the FR model but this was the one I found.

I did see a couple of horror stories about the FR model and im very picky when it comes to the grain and color on these so I guess this was fate.

Anyhow I have been saving money to obtain another Uber which definitely has to happen so it's a minor setback that I couldn't resist. Looks a little dusty, hopefully no issues, should have it some time next week.

Really excited about the Wenge neck. Years ago I had a KM7 mkiii artist and that was a top 3 best feeling neck for sure. This carve is a thin C however so it will be a little fatter which I'm ok with. Won't know until it's in my hands after a setup but definitely looking forward to this.

If these pickups don't scream I have a set of Black Winters to install.

Sweet. The few of these Sun Valley Schecters I've gotten to play have all been really nice. Should be a killer guitar. Congrats.

I think Drew got one of these and loves it.

I bought one a few years ago with the Floyd, and absolutely hated it. I returned it after a day. Could not stand the neck at all. Also felt really weird with the neck angle, like the neck sat too far away from my body. Just a really fucking awkward guitar for me, even though it looks awesome. It's actually what lead to me getting my Bauer strat haha.

Anyway, hopefully works out for you! I like the idea of the fixed bridge vs the FR for this, too, but the bridge wasn't the problem for me lol.

Interesting and i hope i like it. I figured if not the price was decent enough where I wont take a major loss.

I was recently pretty disappointed with the Banshee Mach 7, which on paper should have been perfect. Maybe was a bad setup idk but I'm looking forward to getting this delivery.

Guess it showed up early. Need some time with it of course but I like it. Very tight, feels good to play. The neck carve is not ideal for me but not bad at all, need to adjust to it but out of the box I like the ultra thin C better than this thin C.

Very tight and solid guitar. The one thing I dislike are the saddles. The poles are going to shred my palm apart I can already tell. That in itself may be a deal breaker but we will see.

Waiting on strings in the mail from Sweetwater so I can get my Guage and a proper setup before I can really form an opinion.

The neck single coil soinds fantastic but the bridge, while not bad is not going to cut it for what i play.

Overall pleased with the purchase, especially the price but need some time with it to really decide.

If the little set screws are what's digging into your hand, you can pull them out and file them a little shorter. That was always my issue with Hipshots, but the last couple I've had, the set screws sat beneath the surface of the saddles. I like that bridge way more now haha.

Get shorter screws at Amazon. They're cheap. Take one off, measure it and get a shorter size.

Or you can cut these with a bolt cutter. Cut them from the bottom so the alien wrench hole is not affected. But replacement screws are so cheap that I wouldn't even bother. I think I paid $10 for a pack of 100.
