Schecters are good guitars, but they abalone'd my brain forever. I know the new ones don't have abalone, but the trauma remains.

Good tip. Limba is a great wood. I had a limba Hamer that I loved.fastredponycar wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 7:37 pmThey're more expensive than this charvel deal but the korean schecter sun valley super shredders I think are better overall instruments. I got mine on reverb for $1000 in basically b-stock condition.greatmutah wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 7:25 pm Yeah I have a 2019 I got “used” from the Music Zoo that I love. Did some pickup swaps and made it SSH and it’s amazing. Probably my most versatile shredder. And a great player to boot.
I've got the ziricote version and it plays better, has stainless frets, lumenlays and floyd 1500, etc. I swapped the trem for a Gotoh 1996T and put the Duncan Alpha/Omega set in there but it's just a really really good guitar though also quite heavy for what it is. I guess black limba is heavy?

Yeah the "affliction" aesthetics of the early/mid 2000's was rough. No abalone or pearl to be found here though.Guitarbilly wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2025 1:30 am Schecters are good guitars, but they abalone'd my brain forever. I know the new ones don't have abalone, but the trauma remains.
