Charvel Super Stock Silver Bengal

Post by greatmutah »

Not gonna lie, I fucking love this.

Silver bengal finish. Pointy headstock. 22 frets. One volume rock machine. Gotoh two point trem. No Floyd to muck with (but I do love Floyds). This guitar looks like it came out of 1983 and I love everything about it.

Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in...

Cool guitar. I wish they would do it without the Tiger stripes, like an old school Model 1.

I’d love them to do a consistent 1H pointy at all times! Hard tail or gotoh style trem. 1 volume. All rock.

I agree. It’s weird they don’t offer something like that. Or even a single hum pointy with a Floyd. There will always be a market for it, even if they don’t make a shitload of them.

I associate that finish with ESP and Lynch.

I have to say, don't dislike that one. Agree that a no stripe option would be nice but not a deal breaker. Showing my age!

This is really cool indeed. I don't know how well a vintage tremolo would work with a headstock with such a sharp string angle. But honestly I could just deck it and use it as a fixed bridge guitar. I may pick one up. I love that kind of finish

A lot of the early pointies either had the brass vintage style trem which most decked, or a Kahler. Floyd’s were kinda rare. My 83 was originally a vintage trem guitar but with a Floyd and locknut later added. Locking tuners may help but if they don’t, well just deck the thing.

On a similar note, I'm glad to see the Kramer Holy Grail reissues are getting out to people, and are apparently great. I opted to roll my own for much less money, but its cool to see something like that with unique specs hit the market.
