Trying to match direct guitars to mic'd guitars

Post by ninjaraf »

Not really working quite yet, but I think I can make it pretty damn close with more work. Just out of time for the moment, and it's a fun idea if anyone else wants to try it.

I used the Ozone master assist. Exporting just my guitars from the mic'd version of this and applied the match to the DI guitars. Just wanted to see what would happen. This is the result. I don't think this is all that close, but whatever. Too much low end, probably.

I like 5150s. The rest of you bullshit amps can get fucked.

i think the low end sounds better on the direct, the palm mutes are clearer and popping more, the mids and high end sound better on the mic though
