Re: The Friedman Plex is officially out
ok.... calling it now.... The Four Stages of Billy buying a new amp
1) Buys Friedman
2) Thinks THIS IS THE AMP I HEAR IN MY HEAD
3) Plays DSL a few weeks later
4) Sells Friedman
That amp does sound pretty damn amazing though, that first tone he demos with the amp cranked is that perfect big crunch that's not overly saturated.... be interesting to see how good the master volume works in the room

I'm very impressed with the master volume. It sounded like a fadeout on a record.
Gear: A little of this, a little of that

Someone should just make Billy a dsl with an sd-1 built into itMarc G wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 10:20 am ok.... calling it now.... The Four Stages of Billy buying a new amp

Re: The Friedman Plex is officially out
As good as this amp sounds, it doesn’t have an effects loop; at least, the pics from Sweetwater lead me to believe it doesn’t. If that’s an issue, then that deal dies on the vine.Marc G wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 10:20 am ok.... calling it now.... The Four Stages of Billy buying a new amp

The Synergy Plexi is my #2 go to module, behind the SLO, and sounds very similar. Have not dimed every knob on it yet so I need to rectify that.

Re: The Friedman Plex is officially out
well that would be more comparable to my 1987x than the DSL. I do love the 1987x but this seems like a better sounding amp overall.Marc G wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 10:20 am ok.... calling it now.... The Four Stages of Billy buying a new amp

No loop on this one but that doesn't bother me. The 1987x has a loop but it's unusable if you run the amp hot.
These type of amps get a lot of their distortion from the power amp so to run delays you need to slave them into another power amp.

The Four Stages of Billy of Buying a New Amp is backed up by years of historical purchasing data and I stand by it
