NAD!!! Friedman Dirty Shirley Mini.

Post by Guitarbilly »

I want to Atomic Music today and decide to give the DS Mini a test drive. Sounded awesome right away with minimal effort. Not a bad tone anywhere.
It was listed for 1100 and the owner said he'd do 850 if I bought it today. So I bought it today lol

I'll post some pics when I get home...

I took it to practice today and it sounded really great!!! No problem at all with volume, I had the master volume at a bit over 2 and had no issues being heard. The amp didn't sound small at all but then again I was playing through a 4x12 with V30s so that's a big cab with very efficient speakers.
But it sounded killer, definitely a fatter, rounder tone than the DS but I had no issues cutting through the mix. Took me a few songs to figure out the EQ and gain settings but once it was dialed in, it was near perfect tone.
I wasn't expecting to like it that much in a live setting!!
But I'm really impressed with it.

Running them in stereo would be epic.

i still can't decide which one I would get, JJ JR, JEL20 or Runt 50. Not looking or super heavy gain, but would take boosts for a JCM800 sound.
