First mic'ed up clip in the new place, first new clip of the new year. Used these fancy fuckin' things, which I've owned for about three or four years but never actually tried out before.
One of them goes to the interface (top one), one of them takes the mic output (bottom one) and a cat5 / ethernet cable connects them. Can take four mics that way. Works well since in the new place I have room to set up the amps in another room, far enough away to not be screaming in my ears the whole time I'm recording, and I don't have to keep a whole bunch of cables strung between rooms the whole time. Just one instrument cable, and one network cable, easily would up when not is use.
First time ever mic'ing up a bass amp for my recordings. I may need to work on mic positing a bit there, but it ain't bad for a first shot.

Les Paul Studio into the DSL into the Mesa cab, boosted by Keely SD-1 on the left, Metalzone on the right. M160 in the grill dead center on the speaker.
Jazz Bass into the Darkglass amp, MD421 a few inches out from one of the big speakers, close to centered on the speaker. Maybe just a touch off to one side. Just set levels in the DAW and let her buck. Listening on my living room system, I'd say I need to thin the drums a bit.
Feels good to have the recording setup almost back to full speed. Still missing a chair at the recording desk and a couple accessories for the computer, but I'm gettin' there.
How's the new year going for the rest a ya reprobates?
