Not 50 watts, but why not one of the studio marshalls?

Bogner 3534. I think you could live very comfortably on the Blue channel.
Carvin Legacy III - I know you rocked the OG Carvin pretty hard back in the day, have you tried the 3?
Shiva? needs to be cranked to deliver the goods
I'd almost recommend Splawn but I think that's a little outside your style.

I recall Billy having and liking the SC20 (20 watt 800) and liking it. Just the big boi 800 next to it was no comparison. I’d love the JTM Version of the Studio series for myself. Or on the other end of Marshall tone the 20 watt Jube. Maybe a Jube 20 could work? I still want to try the MT15 with my amps and cabs.

Yeah true, but the EVH tone is a different beast... NOT bad at all but overall heavier and more modern than what I'm looking for. But yeah that's a great amp. If I knew about the blue channel mod when I had mine I'd have kept it.

I actually A/B the DS20 against the 800 Studio last week at Atomic Music and I ended up waking away with the DS20. It sounded better overall. Not that I didn't like the 800, but the DS20 just had more of everything.

I thought the 800 would've been louder and bolder because of the EL34s but it was the opposite, which surprised me. Then I was worried that it wouldn't hold up at band volumes but it did.

I do like the Marshall studio series though..

I haven't tried the Legacy III but yes I do like the Legacy I quite a bit. That's not a bad idea if I can find one at the right price.

yeah that's a lot for a Carvin IMHO. They're not easy amps to re-sell so I need to get them low.
Although GC is pretty easy to return stuff to... :hmm:
