Day 2, with a surprising twist
So we played in Philly tonight. It was great but with an unexpected twist:
I get to the venue and can't find my pedalboard. It turns out forgot my pedalboard in Baltimore yesterday lol. Thankfully the venue has it so I'll pick it up on Sunday.
So anyway, I have a backup rig with the IR-D and pretty much a duplicate of the effects on my main board (wah, boost, chorus, delay) , so no problem, I can just take the IR-D out and use the pedals from that rig with the DSL.
So I'm starting to do that and the soundguy saw the board and asked me if I could plug in the IR-D for a moment because he had never heard one . So we plugged in and it sounded awesome!! I had never heard it through a live PA either, just my studio monitors.
I ended up playing the whole show with the IR-D direct lol. It sounded great and sat in the mix correctly.
Obviously I'm not getting rid of my main rig, I'm still an amp guy through and through, but it's good to know the IR-D works really well as a DI option in a live scenario.

There's only one IR-D, I think. I'm not sure if they made any revisions.I'MAPUNKROCKERDAMNIT wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 7:17 pm Glad it worked out!!! Which IR-D are you using? Enquiring minds need to know!
But it's this one:

Here we go. Doing a Runaways cover, then my solo, then our last song.

But it's this one:
I thought it was the Friedman but I wanted to double check. I've been looking for a gig backup for a long time and I've been lucky to not have needed one...yet!!!
You've been through a lot of backup gear and it sounds like you're pretty happy with this one... that's a good enough endorsement for me.
