Let me show you how to bounce back from small amps

Post by Guitarbilly »

Traded the SLO30 this morning for this:

1977 Super Lead. All original. 100w. NO master volume.

So yeah, that's how.

Edit: I looked at the chassis sticker today (June 10) and it's dated 8-7-77 so it's a 1977 not 1976 like I originally thought.

I will still have a SLO eventually though. But it has to be the 100w. 30w is 2/3 unsatisfying.

This thing is amazing!!!! By very far the loudest amp I've ever had, and it has 4 cab outs!!! not for different impedances, you can literally run 4 4x12s out of this.

But it works well with the Hot Plate attenuator. Not bad at all even at home volumes.
The tone is well THE tone. Sounds like every record I've ever liked Solid amount of gain too, I will still use the SD-1 for leads but definitely more than enough gain for my rhythm parts. I am running it at about 7 so that's not even all the available gain. Feels great to play. These amps really don't need any post effects, they never really sound dry because you get that squishy feeling of power tube distortion under your fingers. Goddamn I can't wait for the next gig on the 22nd

I knew that was coming. Lmao

Now all you need is a Guv'nor to drive it further. Pretty sure that is what Gary Moore did.
