Steve was a master.... a true mad scientist at times when it came to recording, but you could never really argue with the results.... everyone raves about Nevermind's drum sound that they got in Sound City, when IMO the drums on In Utero sound so much better.... he some how also kept Nirvana's guitars raw but so clear on that album....
I can't remember what my signature was..... I'm sure it was something interesting.....
61... fuck.
Wesley Willis tribute to Steve Albini...
I didn't know Steve made demo vids.... he made this one less than a week before he died and Music Zoo just sold all 12 of their Samamps. https://www.themusiczoo.com/collections ... s?q=samamp
This vid about the Samamp VAC 40 very interesting and entertaining... worth the watch...

This fucking sucks. Such an incredible talent who shaped so many albums I love. People rightly talk about the perfect rawness of in utero, but for me his stand outs were his work with neurosis. It's fair to say times of grace was a defining moment for neurosis and the genre and albini delivered it perfectly. It's heavy as fuck in it's own way. The eye of every storm may well be the best written, performed, recorded and produced album ever made. It's perfect. Astounding guitar tones. Tasteful but also incredibly strident and powerful.
