I use reverb sparingly (I think).
I like it on cleans but less on the dirty.
I think I use it less when playing live (or don't need as much depending on the room)
I like using a plate reverb with 1.4 second time, 20-25 level, 4 on density, low cut 100Hz, high cut 6.3 Hz, 30ms pre delay
How do you use it? What are your numbers?

Re: Reverb use and your settings
My settings are similar to yours but I use 1.8ms and I usually mix it around 12-15%. But similar HP and LP and pre-delay times.
I don't think I have a density control on the reverb plugins I use.
Speaking of which, reverb is a studio-only tool for me, I never use it live.

Re: Reverb use and your settings
At home, it really depends on what I'm playing, for cleans, sometimes I like ambient with a lot of reverb and shimmer, other times I like to use it sparingly with no modulation. On gain, I mostly prefer a nice dry tone with little to no reverb. If I use reverb on gain, its usually plate set low.
I do tend to use more reverb for recording vs playing in the room. Currently using the Keeley caverns for my reverbs on my board, if I record, I use plugins and add it post.
For live, I've mostly used my Mesa Road King, so each channel has it's own separate reverb controls. I'll use the amps reverb, small amount for cleans, none for the gain channels.

Re: Reverb use and your settings
I effectively always have some degree of reverb on, always
If the amp I'm using has reverb, I will use that. on my engl and 5153 I've done a few things. I have a mini donner turd that I finally just decided I'm getting rid of, other times I've set up presets on my re-202 so that I can alternate between delay and reverb only. That said, the reverb on its own on the re-202 is middling at best. What I'm doing now is just using my HX one in situations like that and its much superior to either of the other two aforementioned.
I typically have it somewhat subtle, enough to liven up cleans, but not too much taht it makes high gain sound bad. I also have the afterneath for freakout over the top stuff
One feature I really like about my roadster is the 4 separate reverb controls so I can dial in a bit more for cleans and less for high gain

Re: Reverb use and your settings
I use a bit of reverb on cleans, zero reverb on crunch, and delay (no reverb) on leads.
For settings, I turn the knobs until it sounds good.

Re: Reverb use and your settings
I tend to use a plate as well.... similar settings, maybe a slightly higher low cut and I like pre delay set to around 60ms and a slightly lower level setting..... I've been messing with the dynamic plate effect in the Line 6 HX units which automatically dials back the mix once you're playing and when you stop it brings the reverb in and it's been great.... really helps keep your playing clear but when you do stabs or let a chords/notes ring the reverb fills in behindjamminjohn wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 2:39 pm I use reverb sparingly (I think).

that being said, depending on the song I will make changes to suit
I can't remember what my signature was..... I'm sure it was something interesting.....

Re: Reverb use and your settings
I use all kinds of reverb, but it depends on the application. Most of the time, plate is right for everything , ime.
Pre-delay is a VERY powerful parameter. for ambient, I'll do 0ms, for rock and roll, it's something like 20-30ms.
I usually do a low cut around 200hz just to keep things from getting too jumbly.
time can be 1.5s for rock, 2s for solos, 4s - to infinity for ambient.

Re: Reverb use and your settings
I've used reverb on Fender amps for decades. I don't even know how to equate 2.5 on my Pro Reverb to exact numbers but that setting works for most things.
With the H90 I've been using reverb on even higher gain stuff to expand the sound a bit. I don't really play without reverb or delay.
The only time my settings really change are when I want to do trippy post rock stuff then the numbers go up because I'm playing less notes while going for the big washed out thing.
