Today’s Score
Today’s Score
When I worked at MF in the late 90s, my dream rig was a GSP2101 into a Marshall Monobloc. Today i scored the smaller, more practical version: GSP1101 into a Marshall Valvestate 8008. Perfect for my office and it is even portable. Not bad for $300.

Re: Today’s Score
awesome score! love my GSP ... sold one and had ragerts ... had to buy another.
its great even for just effects, but its in 4CM so i can mess with the GSP's amp models once in a while. oddly, it sounds better with my Randall V2's solid state poweramp than it does with the EVH's tube section ... ???
update it to c63 software if it isn't already (more amps, effects, features). here's the compressor trick if you're not familiar ... copy 'n pasted because lazy
"For some reason, if the compressor module is set to run before the amplifier (even if the compressor is off) it dulls the tone. Editing the preset and moving the compressor (still turned off) to the post-amp position sounds like taking a blanket off of your speaker cab. It's louder and the clarity is improved.
I thought the GSP sounded great to begin with, but moving that compressor to post-amp makes it sound even better!
I was shocked at how much of a difference this makes, and I think all GSP1101 owners should know about this.
If your patch has the compressor turned on, keep in mind that moving the position of the compressor will change your sound, as the compressor will be working on the output of the amp module, rather than on the input signal from your guitar."

Re: Today’s Score
Great score. I always wanted one of those GSP units, 2101 or 1101. I never got as far into the fantasy as thinking about the power amp.
Congrats, man. Great price for that setup.

Re: Today’s Score
That’s freaking awesome! I still have an old RP2000 which does sound great for what it does. I’m sure the GSP1101 being much newer than that thing is way improved. I know modeling has come a long way, but a lot of this earlier stuff especially from Digitech still sounds awesome.

Re: Today’s Score
I had a 2101 at some point in my rack days. I struggled with getting a rhythm sound out of it that I really liked, but I think because I had it at the same time as a 3.666 MP-1, I didn't give it a lot of chance. Awesome cleans and good lead tones too. I feel like the 1101 was better, even though it was smaller.

Re: Today’s Score
Ha! Yeah, this my second one, too. Same reasons. Thanks for the reminder about the compressor! I usually like a compressor in front of an amp but not so much here.Landshark wrote: ↑Sun Jun 22, 2025 9:19 am awesome score! love my GSP ... sold one and had ragerts ... had to buy another.

I forgot how great the Valvestate power amp sounds! My previous GSP1101 was paired with a MosValve. Sounded good but not like a "real" amp. Glad I finally scored the Marshall.
