NGD - Gibson R9

Post by Rampage »

My first Gibson and second new guitar I’ve bought in over 20 years of playing. 2025 VOS R9 in Cherry Tea Burst.

I have been a Strat/Super Strat guy my entire life and for some reason developed an infatuation for Les Pauls recently. Well, this one popped up, I submitted what I thought was an embarrassing offer and it was accepted and the rest is history!

Got it earlier in the week and couldn’t play because of work but I have not put it down the last couple of days. Loudest, most resonant guitar I have ever owned. No idea why I always shied away from LPs, but I am glad I waited for this one.

Damn, that is a serious piece of wood. The only one I've ever seen I think Shea had one in KC Gabfest? Incredible guitars, congrats.

I didn’t know about the reissues until Shea. He’s a good dude. I wish we could have got together while I was still in Texas.

I didn’t want to pull the trigger but my wife pushed me over. I’m a huge Duane Allman fan and the dark burst no guard 59 was one to throw out a bid on. Really surprised by the top. Sounds and plays so much better than I expected.

Thanks man! It’s pretty nice. I wasn’t really expecting to like it this much in all honesty because Gibson made it seem like a step above a pawnshop Epiphone.
