Anyome try the TC Electronic V550?

As per the title? My Solar chug has gone AWOL in transit, but I still want a preamp pedal. Has anyone tried the TC V550? Looks like it could be a decent option?

I haven't tried the 550 but I tried the 800 version and it sounded really good. I could gig or record with it, although I prefer my Friedman IR-D. But to be fair the TC is 1/3 of the price of the Friedman.

For the price it certainly looks like a good little pedal. Just a shame you can't load your own IRs on it, as that would really elevate it.

I have the 800 and dig it. I had the 550 and returned it. It sounded not that good to me, kinda stuffy or something. i have a 6505 mini and much prefer micing it up. but I’ve heard great demos of the 550, maybe with some tweaking in the daw it can be opened up a bit.
