Well almost. Lol. Need to make the control covers…
But all in all it’s done. Turned out as sick and tone beast as I could have hoped. Super proud of this one…
Mahogany body-Flamed maple top, black binding
-Roasted maple with Richlite fretboard, Jumbo SS frets and glow in the dark big side markers.
-Floyd rose 1984
-Gotoh tuners
-Bareknuckle Brute Force pickups
I sprayed the top with satin lacquer while the back and neck are all just 3 coats of Goodstuff oil… I swear that minimal finish makes for a great sounding guitar. I’ve done it on 4 builds now, and they always make me think it’s my “best” sounding build. This one is no exception

Also nice job putting the bridge WHERE IT BELONGS. Every Star these days (including my Jackson) has the bridge too far up in the body, which does not look "right" to me.

The original placement is the ONLY place I like the feel of the Star. The later era, Desolation series for example) added 24 frets which def made the upper fret access better, but it put the first fret way further out from the body in playing position. And the bridge was moved inwards which left very little real estate in that area, cause the body thins out the width there, and the anchor of my picking hand was all wrong.
This feels like a strat when sitting down. And standing you have good anchor for your pick hand. Cause it’s also basically a V feel with the upper “back” horn. The OG does not have the best upper fret access. I added a few tweaks to get a little easier. But myself and the guy it’s going to are more riffers than Weedly types, and this is the perfect feel for banging out riffs..
And I’ve said it before but the Star is a really great shape for playability. If you like to sit like a Strat would, you can. If you like the classical position, like when using a V, you can! It has both positions perfectly situated where either feels normal.

Thanks and that Korina strat is a sick one too. I’m a good roll where the tone is kinda staying pretty consistent amongst my builds, even tho they are ALL different. But ALL those years of pickup swaps really does allow me some pretty good assessment of what each guitar will work well with…
Thanks for ALL that! Lol
