That looks like an Explorer with a Firebird headstock. Is that correct?

What is "Dave's Plexi"? What cab is Dave's "naked" Marshall cabinet? By this, I mean what is the lineage/ownership of both items.

Dave's plexi is his favorire amp that he usesd as his main reference point for the Plex a '73 50w lead circuit.

Naked cab is a 72 (I think) 4x12 with blackbacks that is missing the tolex. That's the cab he uses to test/voice all of his amps. I don't think there's any lineage to them, they're just the stuff he uses as the starting point for his designs.

Yeah it's the Lizzy Hale Explorerbird. It's an absolute beast and my favorite guitar I've ever played. Shame that Gibson did literally zero marketing for the thing.

Thomas Blug did a great video with the Plex, his own Plexi and his Amp1 Mercury and they were all really similar. Still really impressed at how good of a sound he gets from that Mercury.

He did a guts analysis of the Plex and it was cool hearing someone who knows a lot about how amps work go through and offer commentary on Dave's design.

TL;DW - Thomas said Dave did a good job and it was nice seeing Dave's own personal touches applied tastefully to a beloved circuit.

I still have my Amp1 Mercury here. That's a really good amp all things consideres. Not exactly like my tube rigs but definitely close enough that I wouldn't care on a gig.

Nice. I'll give that a watch later on.
