special effects were great, so i assume the budget was not small. i can't imagine how it ever got the green light to make it.
horrible Star Wars rip off story ... small group of rebels take on the "Empire",. complete with glowing swords. infiltrate the big space ship (Deathstar) and blow it up, narrowly escaping.
10 minute montage of farmers harvesting wheat? they have the tech for a hover-trailer, but use hand held sickles to work the fields? wtf
horrible dialogue, horrible story.
i only finished it because it was entertaining to see how much worse it could get ... was not disappointed

Falling Down - this movie sucked. No idea why so many people recommended it.
2/10
Whaaaaaaaaaat?!?!?
I love that movie! Turning prices back to 1965 or wanting a whammy burger or clearing a path "mother fuckers!"? I guess since I grew up with it, it just stuck with me.
The neo nazi stuff was weird, and then it was uncomfortable when it was discovered he was a psycho toward his kid. The ending was awful
It's boomer freakout power fantasy the movie. Only they can see what's wrong. Only they can fix it. With violence. He's supposed to be the bad guy. You aren't supposed to be rooting for him. A lot of people missing that because they are too wrapped up in the power fantasy. Fuck yeah, let's go terrorise a poor kid earning minimum wage at McDonald's.

Yeah, that's why I thought it was just a bad movie. Really unenjoyable on every level and I hated it.

Star Trek the voyage Home - I decided to watch the old Star Trek movies in order and I know this is most people’s favorite one but what the fuck is this hippy save the whale shit? One second they’re going home because they got in trouble for stealing the enterprise and killing Doc Brown and the other Klingons next thing they’re flying back in time to steal whales to communicate with some whale noise making probe from their time. Shatners trying to bang the mom from 7th Heaven who instead hitches a ride to the 23rd century and the crew is pretty much absolved for their crimes against the federation.

Nah man Voyage Home is the worst. Wrath of Khan and Undiscovered Country are peak Trek movies.

THE FALL GUY 2024 9.5/10
I should have realized it was a romcom when I saw Ryan Gosling as the star, but the trailer led me astray.
Great movie as a romcom; excellent humor.
Tons of references to older movies (I got 2 from Gladiator, I'd love to hear about others).
Very clean. No nudity (I think there's more 6 packs than boobiage), limited profanity, I think there's only 2 deep kisses, and that's it, so very family friendly.

I saw the eight, Horatio Hornblower series of movies that were made by A&E 22 years ago. I read all the books when I was about 12.
Naval Warfare between the British Royal Navy and Bonaparte's Navy.
I had to buy it on DVD and the g/f and I binged all 8 and were riveted!!! The last few movies were fucking stressful.... lots of excitement!!!
What a great story, great acting, great cinematography, great special effects (for the time), great everything!!!
Two Thumbs Up and Five Stars!!!
Totally worth the $18.00.
