Yeah the gate works fine for me. I'd like to see them add a drive block. Not necessarily for drive captures but a simple drive algorithm would be great. Maybe even a toggle on the compressor block that lets you choose between compressor, drive or clean boost. That would add a lot more versatility to the unit and it shouldn't be hard to do.

Yeah I was wondering if it was just user error but was annoyed i couldn't find a tube screamer type of pedal to add.

I guess that's my one complaint, other software has the full chain where you can add a stomp, gate, comp, fx, etc. I can't find any of that in tonex

This is an older thread and I haven’t been around… Is Billy still rocking tonex or has he traded it for a DSl yet? :hmm:

Got a bunch of captures made this weekend. VERY VERY accurate!

Here's a sample one I uploaded.

https://www.tone.net/tonex/tonemodels/81846

I'm working on a website to sell capture packs. I'm aiming to have about a dozen captures in each pack with DI captures so users can use their own IR's or send to a power amp and speaker cab as well as captures using both the Marshall V30 cab and greenback cab from the Ox Box and maybe a couple from my Splawn 4x12 mic'd up and with a couple different boost pedals too. All captures using the advanced rendering.

So far, I've gotten captures made for the JCM800 stock and another set with the HotMod V2 installed and I'm about half way done grabbing captures for the Fryette GPDI/IR unit and BluGuitar Iridium
Too much junk to list with 255 characters.

It's great for recording to me, although I don't have a killer amp and a mic to track with.

I could see the tonex being a perfect fly rig or something but nothing will ever replace a tube amp for me.

Yeah I have shows booked in CA this summer so I'm going to need a fly rig. Probably going to use the Friedman IR-D or the BluGuitar Amp1.

The Tonex is not bad for what it is. Not at all. Possibly one of the best modelers out there. For the price, it's amazing.

But it's like soy meat. Even when it's good, I still don't want it.
