Still loving the HX Stomp (amp modelling aside lolol) but possibly overkill on price and features
The extra features don't bother me, I can just turn them off, but the price is a bit high for what would be basically used as a glorified delay/mod . Although it would a good backup in case something happens to the IR-D diring a show.
Yeah I do have my “just in case” presets programmed for peace of mind. I also didn’t buy it for any of the amp modelling to begin with.
It’s certainly not replacing my RE-202 for delay, but it does have a slew of other “weird” delays I do sprinkle in (glitch delay FTW
) along with Countless other fx I wouldn’t normally have a stand alone unit for. We have multiple songs now utilizing the poly capo along with other L6 specific things
And having the Mesa GEQ model helped seal the deal for my recently acquired purple stripe so I’m super happy lol

That only does one effects at a time. I need 2-3.

I might have more success dialing in my IICP module with the HX Stomp than I do with the 5 band on the module. Talk about finicky! That said, wish I had a dual 10 or 15 band EQ again like I did back when I was using a Peavey Rockmaster head (nothing like the rack preamp), Laney 212, and Rocktron Rampage or Silver Dragon (partially because the gain/volume controls didn't make much sense and it took me awhile to learn how to dial in the amp to get any gain at all).

HX Stomp, HX Effects are both excellent. The ampero stomp unit is decent as well. Another mid priced at this point option is the Fractal FX-8.
What effects are you particularly looking for the unit to have?
The Eventide H90 would be on the list if the price is not a huge factor.

Basically chorus, delay and a volume boost. Noise gate would be nice too.

I bought the Ampero Stomp today. Bob Bradshaw and Friedman said good things about it so let's see if that works.
Should be here in a few days.
