Thanks guys. I'm very happy with this guitar. I did a full set up last night.

I'm undecided on the JT6 tremolo. It works well but it's a bit quirky. I think I'm going to get a Gotoh 1996t, since it's a drop-in replacement for the JT6 and its probably my favorite Floyd Rose trem.

I was gonna say, if you do replace the JT-6, Gotoh and Schaller drop right in. Gotoh is just as good as the Schaller and costs less too. If your nut’s setup good you can probably stick with the stringlock behind the nut.

Yeah I like the behind the nut string lock. The metal locking nuts on Floyd guitars change the tone in a way that I don't always like. With the string lock, I can still have a normal nut. I think I'll ask my tech to put a bone nut eventually. But the stock nut sounds great and its cut really well, so no rush on that.

I tend to like the Gotoh better than the Schaller, although that's just my personal preference, both brands are great.

That thing is killer. And the fact that it was $250, birthday bonus. Haha

I also am a Gotoh Guy. I’ve replaced two OFRs (meaning German) with Gotohs, and the 3rd guitar I just went Gotoh off the jump.

Thanks man!!!

Yeah I'm definitely leaving the stock pickups!! They sound great. I'm actually thinking about getting some more of these old Jackson pickups for my other strats.

Those J50 bridge pickups are actually pretty dang killer, even without the mid boost. Somewhere in the realm of a Duncan 59 for output.

The pickup that still haunts me a bit to this day is the J90C. I'd love to track one down, or find a good deal on a guitar equipped with one.

Yeah those in-house Jackson pickups were actually pretty good. Any time I used one they sounded excellent.
