With the proper headstock, that looks killer! I gigged an Epi LP for years after a pickup swap 20 to 25 years ago. Great workhorse guitar but looking back, it did have that dipped in poly feel to it. Glad to hear that the new ones have kicked up several notches.

Interestingly enough, I have been watching a VOS 68 reissue LPC on my locals that looks just like a worn out version of yours. But I still like shiny things! And I could almost buy 4 of yours for what this guy wants.

Congrats and HNGD!!!! WOOO HOOO!!!!!

At a gig, I accidentally walked home with another guys Epi LP and left my SG.
I called to tell him and he grabbed by SG for a switch the next day.
While his Epi was in my possession, I tried it out and was really surprised by how good it was!
Made me wonder why I spend more on Gibsons!?!?!?!

I wanted to hate on it because Epiphone but that looks pretty clean. So glad to see they're using ebony boards with the proper inlays these days. I have an Epi LPC that I keep for sentimental reasons and it looks bad compared to my Gibson LPC.

I used the new Epi LPC today at brand practice.

1. It felt strong, substantial the entire time.

2. It sounded fantastic...what is wrong with people badmouthing the 498T? My tone was thick, creamy, super rockin'!

3. I accidentally banged the headstock a little bit at one point against a shelf and it didn't go out of tune...it didn't go out of tune once the entire practice.

Simply wonderful guitar!

The 498T is the pickup I use in all my LPs, I think they sound great. The badmouthing comes from the fact they're way hotter and more midrangey than a PAF, closer to a JB, but I really like them.

Maybe it's the music you and I play, but dangit, that pickup sounds all kinds of killer to me. Thanks for chiming in!

I'd take a 498T over a burstbucker pro or 57 classic+ any day

498Ts fuck. They’re great pickups. Like Billy said, kinda like Gibson’s take on a JB but unlike the JB I’ve always liked the 498T in any Gibson I had it in.

I prefer the 498t to the JB. I used to love the JB in my Les Paul, but I've grown to hate the mid spike over the years.

Gene sent me a Suhr pickup a couple years back that I keep meaning to toss in it, but a 498T would be a great option as well.
