SLO Plus pedal (overdrive and crunch channels)

I have the original Synergy SLO and the SLO II. At first I thought that I liked the original better but after some tweaking, the SLO II is just as good with more flexibility.

The tight switch does nothing for me though. On the rare occasion that I am tuned down to D, I still don't use it. Neuters the tone too much in my opinion.

I don't find the Synergy SLO's to be muddy. They can be dialed in that way but to me, they are great sounding for low to mid gain all the way up to high gain tones. I do boost just about everything, and find many modern high gain amps to be too modern sounding for my tastes, so we are looking for different things.

I can see your point though. Trying to dial in the SLO for a balloon knot water tight tone in drop C is probably not going to make many of those players happy.

I can either get it dialed in for harsh and distorted in an unpleasing matter, or bassy and scooped sounding. I'd likely prefer the 6505 module, but I think the 6505 module should have a I/II switch to get the original 5150 tone as well as the combo/5150 II tone.

I have the 6505 module as well. For reference, the 6505+ was the 5150 variant that I liked the most out of the models I have owned. I have not owned the Iconic, or 100W versions of the Stealth or EL34 models. Did play them though and still want the EL34 100W.

The 6505 module has less low end than the original 5150 head in my opinion. Which I appreciate. Also has a touch more give/sag than the EVH models which I also prefer.

The core tones that I dial in tend to have less low end and more cut to sit in the mix. Without A/B testing the 6505+ and the 6505 module at the same time, I am pretty sure that I can tweak the module to get very close. Power amp dependant of course. Using a PS2 or JCM800 power section at the moment.
