Not sure why it being made in the Czech Republic is a negative. Bohemia has been making organs, brass, woodwind and stringed instruments since the sixteenth century. They have a long tradition of excellent luthiers. Some of the finest violins, cellos and upright basses ever made come from there.

The Peavey Vandenbergs look kind of bad for $3000. They look like they should be closer to $1800.

I don’t have a problem with czech stuff, i just like authenticity. Peter steele = esh made in small german factory. Not an outsourced instrument from another countey with cheaper labor.

To sorta tack on to the Peavey thing. The shop I’m at took a chance with Peavey a couple years ago. Maybe 2021, so there was still the whole Covid thing going on. So products were slow to come in. But now 3 years later, we’ve gotten in about 6 -7 HP2’s, which are well made. The first 4 were all the NOS parts. The newest have been all new construction made In CZech stuff. Again it’s high end but Peavey just doesn’t “look” right charging $3k. Any guitar really. They’d do better at like $2100.

But my point is, they’ve failed in basically every regard. We were supposed to get a ton of the bigger amp heads and basically they e produced enough to give to the big places like Sweetwater and it doesn’t even seem like they have a great stock. We’ve gotten some mini heads like the 6505, classic and Invective. And their cheap Vypyr 2. Plenty of those. But I doubt they last much longer doing business like this. Standard promise the farm and deliver jack shit. And we are supposed to see some of those Vandenburgs but I doubt we’ll ever see one

Being made in CZ is not a negative, the issue is the price IMHO.

This is my problem with strandbergs :(

I want one pretty bad but I refuse to pay that kind of money for a Cort built guitar when we all know what those instruments should be priced at. That and the fact that by all accounts strandberg requires the absolute lowest QC requirements compared to any other company contracting cortek
