Friedman IR-D clip

Post by Guitarbilly »

Playing the IR-D with a Klone as a boost and a Boss DD-3 straight into the computer. This thing sounds pretty great, Best DI solution I've found so far.

Damn, amazing how you sound with so little gear. I need to practice more.

And a Strat too!

Yeah I've been playing a lot of strat lately. They're just so comfortable and light  I'm getting old lol

Thanks man! I wasn't completely sold on the IR-X but this one sounds really good for a DI solution. I'm still an amp guy at the end of the day, but this is night and day from modeling.

We joked a little at them releasing this the day I ordered the IRX, and this does sound awesome, but I’m still happy with the X. I definitely like that these sound much more “real” than a lot of other direct solutions. One thing I will say for the X is that it sounds a lot better on channel two with my Super Strats vs my LP. It needs that brightness.

What’s the difference between the IR-D and the X?

The IR-X is based on the BE100 while the IR-D is based on the Dirty Shirley. So the IR-D is warmer and with less gain.

I didn't really like the IR-X, it sounded a bit shrill and too "direct". This one is really cool though.
