Has anyone here been successful in getting a custom pickup made from Seymour Duncan's Custom Shop? I've reached out to them twice and have been shut down. One was for a Dimebag 7 string version with different magnets and the other was a stacked 59 single coil using rails. I'm leaving out nuanced details, but still, am I under the wrong assumption that custom means custom?
I do understand that due to certain agreements with artists that they cannot do certain things, but outside of that ...... am I completely missing something?

Never, they claim to only turn down a couple of requests per year.
Considering Sweetwater has "custom shop" pickups in stock I'm guessing it's more of a marketing strategy and they are in it for the money. Maybe too much work for not enough profit idk.

I was speculating just as much. I don't understand why offer it, if you're not going to follow through.
