BTW, I'm quickly becoming a hardcore believer in the Sennheiser MD431/531. It almost sounds EQ'ed the minute it goes on tape. I tried to use a nice USA vintage CAD E200 LDC, and it just sounded awful with my voice. Whipped out the 531, and it was like being home. I might try to use my SM7B again, but that one sounds a bit too dull for my tastes.

I've been considering the SM7B for my vocals since my room I track vocals in isn't very well treated. For being $99, I don't mind the Lewitt 240 on my vocals, I like it better than the Blue Bluebird I was using. I should try a dynamic of some sort for my vocals sometime.

DO IT.

SM7 is what MJ used on Thriller and a bunch of other stuff.

Shoot, Anthony Keidus uses an SM57 on the records.

Yup, quite a few big names have used the SM7B on records. I've heard the SM57 is very close sounding to the SM7b, hell Justin Vernon used SM57's all over the first Bon Iver record.
