I don't need it, and already have a DD-500, but $250 brand new sounds like a good deal on one of these. Worth it if I currently only use the DD-500 on two settings with both already using the SDE algorithm?
Edit: looks like all stores are selling this for $250. Discontinuing maybe? And should have researched before starting this thread. It appears that the DD-500 can do the SDE thing the same as the SDE-3000D with more options.

Damn. Crazy good deal.
FWIW, DM-101 delays are getting blown out too. I've seen "Used/open box" (New) ones at sketchier dealers for sub $240.

I also saw a lot of RE202 price drops on reverb from outlets, really tough to not pull the trigger on one for 250

You will not regret it, absolute steal at that price. It's honestly become one of the most integral parts of "my tone"

Hows the reverbs on it? I am currently using the keeley caverns for delay and reverbs, if I bought one, I would want to replace 2-3 pedals from my board with the re202

Absolutely non brainer. Bought it.
The DD-500 does a lot more stuff and is easier to use.. But IMHO while the SDE algorithm on the DD sounds pretty good it's not as good as the actual SDE pedal.
Here's a comparison I made of the two:
SDE (this was the EVH version but the basic sounds are the same):
DD-500
Both are great but the has SDE a more lively open sound. It's even more pronounced in the room. The dry signal also sounds better through the SDE.

The real magic happens with how the reverb interacts with the delay
For stand alone "always on" reverb I usually prefer that to come from an amp. However, in the past when I've run an amp that doesn't have reverb I've set it up with alternating identical presets so that I can leave the re-202 always on and then just cycle through the presets alternating my typical sound and reverb only (there's no option to just turn only delay or reverb off so have to get creative like this if that's the goal). The reverb is solid, there's a few different ones you can switch between doing secondary functions with screenless menu diving lol. I wouldn't say the "reverb only" sounds are a selling point as the only control you have is pretty much just a level knob
I have the HX stomp integrated in my board now so when I'm running an amp without reverb and need something there I just use that. Re-202 obliterates any comparable delay models in there though

Cool, if I'm using my Mesa, I use it's reverb but the krank doesn't have reverb. If I feel I need a stand alone, I have a Hardwire RV7 I can put back on my board.

The RV-7 is a great pedal. It sounds like a Lexicon rack I'd definitely use that.

It really is great, I especially like the plate and spring. Sounds like I'm re-arranging my board once my RE-202 comes in
