So, sorry I haven't posted much lately. May and June have been stupid busy. I usually participate more.



In the meantime, I got a pair of Sennheiser Blackfire 531 vocal mics from that guy in the Netherlands who does a purple cloth background for his 10,000 vintage mics he sells.

This is AWESOME. I like it more than my SM7B. Even listening while I recorded with headphones, I was giddy. Like, "THAT'S IT!".

I kind of rushed this one. Wanted to add a wall of fuzz, but I just don't have time right now.

Listening right now, I'm really stoked about how this mic sounds.

Great song man. The vocals sound very clear even with the wall of sound. I need to check this mic out.

I like the arrangement as is. I can see a fuzz wall being cool too but the synth sound is pretty thick anyway so it's all good.

Fwiw, the lead guitar/feedback track was a single take. First take. It just felt right. No overdubs. I was in a hurry. Lol.

Was that mic into an interface or did you use a specific mic preamp? It does sound really clear, kind of airy from what I can hear. These mics aren't being made any longer, right?
