Saw the above video today and the dude in the video did a great job for laying out what he used to get a guitar going.

Just curious if you guys had any helpful tools that you couldn't go without? Barring the typical screw driver or towel.

Mine.

1. I use a piece of 2" foam as my work pad to ensure the guitar doesn't get scratched and there's clearance for the neck and headstock. It's roughly the size of a guitar body, so not big.

Question: What do y'all use to tighten the top screw of an Ibanez Edge Lo-Pro tremolo socket?

The only tool I need to get a guitar going:

Brick, butter knife, hacksaw, pliers, channel locks, some drill bits and a few sharpies.

I didn’t watch the vid. As far as assembly. I mean just putting shit together. Really don’t need much. But as far as “assembly” as in im putting this shit together AND making it play great!?Files/sanfpaper suitable for fret leveling for sure. And maybe some small measuring tools, feeler gauges etc. i never use a feel gauge anymore but maybe when getting started it’s a good tool to use for checking relief. Oh yeah, also a proper straight edge. Unless you buy a Precision flat straight edge, you can not find anything truly straight at a box store. I’ve tried. No straight edge is truly straight unless it’s been designed to be STRAIGHT. And unfortunately those cost $30-50 for one long enough to span the fretboard. Prolly even more these days. But I make a lot of use of my straight edge at work

Don’t cheap out on nut files.

A drillblock. Helps to drill properly so you do not end up drilling at a goofy angle.
