Yo yo!

I made it to the new site…I had the old page bookmarked and every time I went there it just gave an error so I thought the site was still down. Then today I decided to just type in the main url from scratch and lo and behold…there it was, inviting me to register all over again.

I truly hope all the old data will eventually be imported. It would be a shame to lose so much good info.

In other news…I bought an original tan logo, gray/black panel Peavey VTM 60 that will be arriving early next week. I seem to have reached that point in my life where collecting every great amp I ever had in the past seems like a good idea.

When my first ‘79 JMP 2204 was stolen, I replaced it with a VTM 60 at the time and it didn’t miss a beat. They ARE that great if you know how to dial them in. Ugly beasts but, man…KILLER tone!!!!

Yeah I tried to put some redirects but for some reason they only work if you type in the URL

Anyway, welcome back man
VtMs are killer amps!!! Pretty much a JCM800 with switchable mods.

They fit in a 5150 hwadshell, which is good to take a bit of the weight off. Looks a lot better too:

Peavey sells the headshell for $200, I think, and it's a perfect fit.

I wanted to get just that but they don’t sell them anymore no matter what and they claim to have never done that. I will probably get SourMash to make me one.

That's lame. They definitely used to sell them. I know because I bought one.

Another option would be to try to find an used Valveking for cheap. It's the same headshell. If you find one for $200-300, get it and swap the headshells

Then take the Valveking in the old headshell to a Guitar Center and sell it for $100 to recover some of cost. Or keep it as a backup, it's not bad for the money.

I considered the valve king headshell too…but it appears they don’t have the vent on top. I might do that anyway though..

I had a VTM for a while and really liked it. Not sure why I sold it actually. Probably the weight and the appearance! Gear whoring as well.
