I said No more clip comparisons! But Im a liar! haha So long story, hopefully short.. Ive modded my 6505 back and forth pretty heavily.. It initially started out as trying to track down a hum.. Ended up being a filter cap.. Actually 2 I think.. And a ribbon cable.. Altho to so much hum but it cut down noise still.. So the fucker is fixed and works as it should.. I initially put the Mercury Tranny in thinking it might fix it.. It didn't.. Eventually after all the mods, I said, lets just put the OG back in and sell the Mercury.. I did that.. Sounded fine as well.. But I never sold the tranny.. So Saturday about 2 hours before I had to leave for my show, I said fuck it, IM putting this in again! haha.. Took about an hour and I played it for 20-25 minutes as loud as possible and decided its going to the show!!! lol.. So thats how I put back the Mercury.. As many know its a pretty small difference.. Id almost argue the choke does more in terms of a noticeable change. But its in there.. And heres a clip.. Ofthe GREEN channel boosted with my modded TS808.. I just prefer the green most of the time. Micing a Celestion g12-65.. One thing you can never take away from these amps, Green or red.. They still might be the most brutal amps if you ask me!

And for Comparisons sake.. The Evh El34 100. On the Blue channel NO Boost.. So straight in.. It doesn't quite have the gain of the boosted 6505 green, but its the best way to get the low end punch of the 6505 out of the evh..

And last but not least..I Have the g12-65 mixed with some Celestion K100 in my cab.. And somehow the Evh Blue thru the k100 sounds closer to the 6505 thru the 65s

they all sound great but I’ve always really liked that 6505 crunch channel boosted
