Digitech Drop pedal

We will have a song in the set that is tuned half step down. I am considering buying this pedal so I don't have to bring another guitar and bass to the show. How natural does it sound when tuned down? Does it change the tone or dynamics?

Can't say for sure as I've never used one but I've heard bands live with it and didn't notice anything. Would not mind checking one out, I say go for it.

I have used the Drop for about 5 years or so. Going down a half step is fine. Will you hear a difference? Probably. At least I do but it is very minimal. Each half step more that you go down the more the difference is noticeable. To keep from having to bring extra gear to a show it is a no brainer though.

I don't even bother to tune my guitars down to Eb flat anymore. Leave them in E and use the pedal to go to Eb, or even a full step, without giving it a second thought.

Yeah that's the plan. I take 2 guitars to gigs anyway so tuning one 1/2 down is not a big deal, the pedal is just easier.
But for Kimmi it will definitely make a huge difference since she doesn't bring 2 basses to gigs.

Idk about the drop but I use the Poly capo on the HX one to go a full octave down to simulate an 8 string in drop E in some songs

Works pretty well, sounds good. Perfect? Probably not but more than good enough for live usage

The polyphonic tracking that low is a bit questionable for anything besides single notes lol, but the limited time I've spent at like normal detunings it tracks and sounds great

Plus, it's only $80 more than the drop and you get 260 other FX as well ;) :cop:

I have one. You really won't notice a half step. A band I was in did a few Motley Crue songs, and they have a lot in D standard. It was still passable a whole step down.

It’s a great pedal. Tracks really good. A few pro metal bands use one. Notably Cannibal Corpse. They tune from B all the way down to G# and in between and use the drop for this

I have a couple friends that swear by it for the same reason, two of them are reallllllly fussy tone guys and they always tell me how great it is
