Sorry for the constant SPAM but continuing to explore this amp. This is on the normal channel crunch mode with my SUF Red Army fuzz in front.

Used:

Pittman Workingman Plus Tele - Stomp Under Foot Red Army - Soldano SLO100 crunch mode - Eventide H90 - Ownhammer IRs

That sounds great! Love the grit and thickness of the Red army.

It’s so damn good! I’m glad you were able to get one

It’s not really a tone I associate with em but I got a Danzig type vibe from the beginning of this. I think maybe later on they started to get a bit fuzzier sounding. It works well. I don’t find many high gain amps like a fuzz in front. But I’m sure the SlO has a lot more purity in its signal path

Haha that's definitely a first. Danzig.. but I'll take it! The compression and clipping from the crunch mode keeps the fuzz from getting too splatty and shitty sounding like it can on a straight clean channel. I'm surprised how versatile the amp is.. I figured I'd be in Ratt/VH FUCK mode 100% of the time, but I'm finding it kinda does what my other amps do but better. I'm getting ready to dump a bunch of stuff on Reverb..

Well just the first minute or so. Lol. Idk, I feel like you might be into, or actually Dig some early Danzig if you aren’t familiar?? But yeah, it seems like an awesome amp. The SLO was never in my radar but I gassed for the Avenger for quite awhile. It’s good when you feel you got sumthin that can do everything you basically want and be flexible enough to actually give DIFFERENT tones when that inevitable urge to mix it up a bit comes in.

For sure. I always assumed they were kind of a one trick pony for the Lay it Down tone... and yeah it definitely nails that but then I noticed Clapton, Warren Haynes, and a bunch of other dudes used em...

I'll check out the early Danzig... I need some new stuff to listen so good timing lol

Well, you might hate it of course: lol. . But just a slight educated guess, try Danzig 2 or 4. 2 is called Lucifuge and 4..?? I always forget. I think it’s just 4, but has symbols or some shit. Lol. But both of tho… Actually first 4 ALL just hard rock really but the first one, even tho it’s like 800 level of gain, feels a bit more metal in delivery, and “How the Gods Kill” has a bit more metal feel again. But otherwise it’s just rock/hard rock.

I scanned through Danzig 2 at the gym today and definitely some good stuff. I got turned off them in the 90s when Mtv played that live Mother video every hour so good to take another go .

Sounds great!!! I agree with the Danzig reference but that's a good thing.

John Christ is a local here, we've played a few shows with his band. Really good player, highly underrated I think.
