EVH Metallica tones?

I got this WMD parametric EQ. Figured this could be something cool to get me Mark tones without buying another Mark IV lolol. Anyway, it works great!!
I recorded this DI using my cousins old ass Ibanez S540 or whatever it is. I put Dimarzio Dominions in this guitar last week, and it just sounds fucking killer!!
Signal is Ibanez into the EVH, EQ and noise gate in the loop. Driftwood reactive load into my RME Fireface. The Cel is the Celestion speaker mix pro. MetIR is a Harvester of Sorrow IR from that Metallica IR pack that was going around. Did a take with and without the EQ running so you can see the effect it has on the sound. Pretty damn cool! I probably still want another Mark IV lolol

sounds ggod, parametrics are a great tool. if you really want to make your amps more "mesa" id say grab the 5 band eq, that thing makes all my amps sound like metallica lol

yeah man, the EQ'd clips sound like a Mesa to me. Obviously when I know it isn't, my ears keep looking for differences and I can hear a few things in the highs. But that's also my brain fucking with me.
If you posted these clips and said "Done with a Mesa". I would NOT even question it at all. So it's really close.

Yeah, that was my initial idea...get a Mesa EQ pedal, but I could only find the ones with boosts. This was $150 lol. Seems to work good enough.
Funny because I felt similarly about the Grid Slammer. It gives this Mesa kinda character to everything.
I think this could sound even closer to Mesa if I EQ the amp controls to sound closer to the Mark without the EQ on. But I didn't do that lol.

Jeff was selling one that he got in a trade. I told him I would love to buy it, but it's not in the cards unless I sell something else first lol.

i didnt know they were hard to find. ive tried it with my DSL and its definitely fun, i can pretty much nail it with my 6 band parametric though if i use those same mesa frequencies, that scooped 750hz is really the key

The MetIR without the EQ sounds closest to the album. The Cel EQ is still too rough in the high end.
Ibanez came out with a parametric EQ, PTEQ. It's a freaking bargain too at $130.
