Glad I found ya.


Sometimes, friends come to me to help them with ideas. I really like doing this, because I can kinda concept the "vibe of a project" and write them some short starts, and walk away lol.

Here's two recent ones. They're both short playlists of just a few ideas/themes.

First... a buddy is trying to write what he calls "western death". Dunno where the term came from, but it's like Quentin Tarantino produced Chris Isaak in a ghost town full of tumbleweeds, with a touch of Clutch thrown in...lol. So I wrote these. Just my modded Squier Tele on most of it:

The other guy wanted modern rock with some nods to Coldplay and The Police... This set is a little less coherent, but it's what I heard in my head...so I wrote it. Most of this was, believe it or not, my Vintera Jazzmaster.

The first one fucks. I really like the kinda No Quarter vibe on the back end of it, and yeah tumbleweeds and Chris Isaac mixed is right in my wheel house. What were you using for effects? That leslie-ish effect is sick! Book 3 has a great Samurai Champloo vibe to it combining the loneliness of the journey with the spaghetti western vibe.

The ColdCop tracks are definitely more in line with your normal style, but the added upbeat piano parts are a cool contrast.

Thanks man! All of the effects were just EZMix presets like always. I used the Cinematic Guitars preset pack for the Book tracks.
