So Ben Verellen, formerly of Verellen amps has gotten together with some EEs to develop a solid state power tube replacement. Not a great deal of info out there just yet, other than a pretty basic website and a few instagram posts, which may or may not embed here properly
This could be a very interesting development if they can pull it off!

Nice to see another manufacturer make a solid state tube. From what I heard, it did sound like the new tubes colored the sound a bit.

I tried some of the previous versions of the preamp SS tubes, and they turn your tube amp into a SS amp lol. DNW.

There is pretty much zero point making ss preamp tubes anyway

But having options for power tubes ain't no bad thing if they can get the screen compression to work right.

The octal power tube replacements could be useful for amps where the preamp is making the majority of the gain, especially if they are getting increased output from them. I could see them benefiting something like my PRS MT15 with more clean headroom. Make it behave like a 35 watt amp could be useful.

to me its like trying to get a lesbian chick to like dick, i mean she may try it and pretend like shes into it, but theres no way shes ever converting full time, the same way a tube guy isnt putting SS "tubes" in his amp lol

They sound ok. I wouldn't replace my tubes with it but as a back up for gigs, it's a great idea. Just throw them in the gig bag without having to worry about them breaking etc. I have the JCA SS preamp tubes for the exact same reason and they actually saved me a few times over the years.
