So I was over on another forum and some folks were talking about these MGL amps. I hadn’t heard of them but then clips started getting posted. Everything sounded pretty killer, so I reached out to Mark Bishop (Builder) and he offered to send me out the 50 and 100 watt amps to check out.

The 100 showed up but the 50 decided to go on a bit of an adventure!

Anyway, need to spend a bit of time getting familiar with these and then going to do some demos and such. The amps look killer for sure and all the clips I’ve heard sound rad.

We shall see…

Ohhh damn!!! I've been eyeing this amp since it was released. It sounds so good. One of the best new 800-inspired amps out there. If not THE best. A friend of mine here has the 50w and it blows me away every I play it.

Yeah man I only got a little time with it but holy hell! And the build quality is just ridiculous. Killer amp. Can’t wait for the 50 to get here as well.

Nice! yeah the clips of the MGL stuff always sound awesome. It will be cool to hear what you think of it, given your exposure to all kinds of other boutique-y "Marshall type" amps

Looking forward toward your thoughts. Those have been on my radar for a while now. Most of the clips that I have heard sound great.

Hadn't heard of these. Sure do look purty. I'll be anxiously awaiting your clips.

Yeah man, this was a “new to me” brand. Mark was really cool to chat with and is just very into building amps. Had some great conversation and really looking forward to digging in.

Yeah for real, I’ve yet to hear a bad clip of these.

Nice to hear that you like our amp that you've tried!! The MGL100 and New MGL50 are 2 channel amps that are more modded late Plexi - early metal panel Marshall inspired tones. The MGL50 Purple Circuit is a our modded 2204 JMP - JCM800 voiced amp.
