The Audient iD48 has analog inputs between the mic preamp and the converter.... you can easily patch in your own preamp, compressor, or other hardware to use while recording -or- to "reamp" later one. It will be available in March for $999

"In addition to allowing other gear to be patched in between the interface’s mic preamp and converter stages, Audient’s new Switchable Analogue Insert feature makes it possible to route DAW signals through the insert path, allowing users to apply outboard processing to their DAW signals on a per-channel basis. Signals can also be patched into the insert returns, allowing users to bypass the mic preamps and record directly into the interface's converters."

That's cool. I had an Audient interface before and I wasn't crazy about it but to be fair, I didn't know much about recording back then. Well, I still don't  but I knew a loss less at the end.

I like the rack format, features and price on this one. Definitely would consider it when I upgrade my current one.

Yeah man!!! The price is very surprising and the ability to patch in between the preamp and converter has me sold.
Once my 2013 iMac shits the bed, I'm def getting one of these.

Nice!

I had an ID44 that lasted 5 years, then one of the preamps took a shit. I sent it to Audient and they repaired it for $125. Worked great after that but it took about a month and I had to get something else by then. So I ended up selling it.
