Do you find those types of transformers noisier, as in can you be close to the amp when playing? I have an amp with toroidal transformer and have to stay 6+' way or it's buzz city.
The torroidal transformers shouldn't be noisier. My Laney has a torroidal power transformer and it's as quiet as my other amps.
What amp is it?
Randall RG3003. It's the only toroidal equipped amp I've had so I don't know jack about them.
The RGs tend to be noisy amps in general. At least noisier than a tube amp with that same amount of gain. I had an older RG150ES that was pretty noisy too and it had a regular transformer. So I think it's normal for these amps. They sound awesome though, so it's worth just dealing with the noise or adding a gate to loop.

Toroidal power transformers should in theory be less noisy than an EI laminate transformer as the magnetic fields radiate inwards, thus don't couple into other parts of the amp. EI transformers radiate strongly along one axis, which is why the PT and OT are turned 90° from each other so that they don't couple.
Toroidal OTs have a few peculiarities that EI transformers don't, namely things to do with DC offset and core saturation. It's easy to design to compensate for this and true transformers core saturation sounds like ass regardless and actually quite difficult to achieve.

Seems to sound pretty good to my fried ears. Guts look nice and clean too.

Ok here’s Marcus compared to 3 other Marks same track from my looper and same IR. Just some drop D power chord stuff. I’m honestly kinda over IRs or least my captor as a load box. Guess I’m willing to give the Suhr RL a shot
I wasn’t trying to make all of them sound identical or anything, just dialed in as I have them

If you had said those were all mesa marks of some sort I would totally believe you.

So the real question is... how hard is it to get rid of that Crab badge?

Does it come off easy or is it built into the grill?

If it doesn't come off easy, could always unscrew and use the other side of the grill as the front

Looks pretty good quality for the price, also good to see the tubes are all mounted to the chassis and not the PCB. Now I'm kinda kicking myself for not jumping on the ubertone clone that was on market place for a bit.

Dude congrats!
How did the amp do during practice?
