Yeah my friend went by and checked it out yesterday. Verified purple stripe. Said it sounds like it needs some work though (it is 40 years old so kind of expected) but it was pretty cool to play.

Local guy with the purple offered me a lower price after declining a couple trade offers

I hate to be another dude going on about how great my iic+ is, I always kind of scoffed at all the hype I’ve seen since I started forum’ing, but once I got mine I completely understand, it is the best amp I have. If they nailed it with these reissues, they are gonna sell a million of them at $3600

I know a lot of people are big mad that it costs as much as a VII, that Mesa is doing a RI, or “just cuz” because Gibson…
BUT
the price tag is quite a bit lower than Iwas expecting for these
And… adjusting for inflation, neither the VII or RI are any more expensive than other new Marks upon release…. In fact a fully loaded II in the late 70s would clock in somewhere between $4-5k in todays dollars
Mostly just curious to see how close they’re able to pull off the RI. And let’s face it, even if it’s dead on there’s still gonna be a lot of people saying “not even close” that have a stake in selling $12k OGs
