That KSR looks badass......so does this Soldano. Not really my tone and tbh for the price of those 2 I'd just buy a different amp but damn that would be a super sweet setup.

Very curious about the IR section. I can't watch the entire video here but can you load 3rd party IRs? I assume yes and probably have to but maybe they're forced with stock IR?
Yes you can load any IR you want to. The software automatically reformats the IR to work with it. Same process as the Friedman IRX/D/J pedals.

That's dope tbh. I wonder how that would work with recording like running direct to an interface without a power amp

That’s pretty much how it’s designed to be used. It has power amp emulation on the Direct out

I do too but I'm a product of the 80's like he is. Hairband tones are kind of his wheelhouse. I enjoy his personality and the music he writes for his demos. He demos a lot of stuff I'm interested in so I watch most of his videos. Like Pete Thorn he opens with a polished track then provides stripped down tones later while going over the controls of the gear he is demonstrating.

Leon Todd has a good demo of this preamp too. (which I see someone posted after writing this). He is another rack gear aficionado I follow a lot. Leon's demos are typically on the edgier side but he is a big 80's fan so he covers a lot of those tones too.

There are other players that demo gear like Kyle (don't remember his last name) who always plays drop tuned death metal riffs that all sound the exactly same to me and I find boring. Others probably like that a lot more because that's the stuff they grew up on and love. There are a lot of techniques in that genre I find really impressive but I tire of it really fast so I don't listen to it much. There's no good or bad, it's just a matter of personal taste and I have none.

Yeah if I had a power amp and case laying around here that would change things for sure :thu:
