Casting is TERRIBLE. The beauty of elves turned into troll looking assholes. Bleh. Depressing.I'MAPUNKROCKERDAMNIT wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 7:33 pmYeah man... I read all the Tolkien books from Farmer Giles of Ham to the Silmarillian.nightflameauto wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 1:09 pm
You can stomach it for a few moments if you don't think of it as at all related to Tolkien. Unless you never read Tolkien. But even so, there's a lot of very questionable, "They clearly stole that idea from another movie franchise" moments that don't really flow together in a logical, or a believably non-logical way. Good background noise for doing chores though. You can watch a few cool fantasy tropes play out with a budget, but the story and characters are kinda anywhere from meh to grating.
Lack of continuity, dots that don't connect, moments that don't flow in a logical order.... that shit gives me convulsions!
It's a shame that they spent all the development money on production but not the script.
Just from the scenes shown in the above review, the casting looks pretty bad as well.
What a shame.
Critical Drinker makes it worth keeping it on as background noise, just to hear him rip it apart a day later.
